Whistleblower: Ranking EGF police officer caught on tape saying he would lie to cover-up police abuse

Lt. Rodney Hajicek, EGPD, is captured on tape stating he will lie to investigators regarding a savage beating of a hand-cuffed prisoner that he witnessed.

According to a whistleblower (hereby referred to as Edward), Hajicek was captured discussing the incident on tape in 1991. “[There is] tape on him the night that cop beat that guy saying ‘I won’t say anything we all got to stick together’”.

Whistleblower: Remember how many times he rapped his head on the cement floor?

Hajicek: About four or five times.

Whistleblower: Is that right? Don’t you think that was a little excessive, beating his head on the floor though?

Hajicek:  It’s been done by Curt Ellingson

Hajicek: No, I didn’t see it in the entry way, but in the booking room he hit the guy.

In another section of the recording, Hajicek vows to stay silent about what he witnessed.

Hajicek: But like I said, I will deny it.

“He’s a pathetic fucking liar,” Edward said.

Edward said Hajicek has a copy of the recording.

Edward said there were seven police officers present the night the man was savagely beaten in the East Grand Forks Police Department.

The aforementioned beating was allegedly committed by Officer Curt Ellingson (retired), a relative of Sgt. Mark Ellingson, Grand Forks Police Department.

Mark Ellingson was recently placed on leave pending an investigation into the shooting of David James Elliot in the parking lot at Altru hospital.
